The screen uses thinnly sliced bay tree logs used to create a large folding screen. The screen effectively dissects the logs, allowing the growth of the tree to become eveident, almost as though time has been slowed down. I was interested to simply take the logs apart without a very clear idea of what they would become - therefore the material in part dictated the resulting object. This was a theme I explored again in the Man Made series. The screen is a continuation of the the Thin Slice series commissioned by Gallery Libby Sellers
